Kinghorn, Scotland
July 28, 2017 - August 25, 2017

Spotted Travelling heads over to Kinghorn Scotland from Ireland in August 2017. Â Apparently, a good time to be in Scotland for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
Kinghorn is in Fife, Scotland about 40 minutes north of Edinburgh on the train. The town has a population of close to 3,000 and quite close to the larger city of Kirkcaldy. We will be staying in an older Victorian building overlooking Kinghorn Beach. Our aim is to use this accommodation as a base to go exploring other parts of Scotland. These include
- Edinburgh (and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival since we are there in August)
- Glasgow
- The Scottish Highlands. Loch Ness, Inverness, Cairngorms National Park, Fort Augustus and more
- Dundee
- Perth
- Kirkcaldy
- St Andrews
- Anstruther (I hear the fish and chips are good there!)
- Some of the local sights like Burntisland and coastline surrounding Kinghorn
Excuse the photo. That is not of Kinghorn. It’s a picture of Eilean Donan Castle in the highlands. Although it’s getting us in the spirit of Scotland!
